Dance Fever is a common term used to describe a number of extravagant actions that took place in some European cities during outbreaks of pestilence in the late Middle Ages. People were uncontrollably dancing in the streets as it seemed one of the best ways for them to express themselves and avoid panic attacks. In the painting, ladies are dancing in the gentle dawn sunlight, celebrating the victory of life against the ailment and the beginning of a new era. The painting perfectly matches a monochrome apartment, adding a bright spot on the wall. It also fits well in an apartment with warm colors and yellow accents.
