Three Ladies

The concept for this artwork was born in my mind about a month ago.

It features three women from different social classes — a royal lady, a peasant woman, and a church servant — who all appear to meet each other.

While the royal lady and the peasant woman are scanning one another, the church servant is looking directly into the eyes of the observer, thereby distancing herself from the other two.

I tried to capture the style of a medieval miniature and used Prismacolor pencils for the figures, while the background was colorized with acrylic paint.

I’m really happy with the result.
